Due to growth in demand for Wellington's products and solutions globally, we are expanding our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced QA Test Engineer to join the Wellington team - working with the embedded firmware team to develop and execute manual and automated test solutions to assure the quality of Wellington’s Refrigeration controllers,  IoT product using both manual and automated test techniques. 

About you:

As an experienced test engineer, you will bring your knowledge and experience to lead testing and ensure product releases are of the highest quality. You’ll have a continuous improvement mindset and inquisitiveness to examine current process and drive improvement of product quality, test process and tools.

  • 2+ years of manual and automated test experience.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience converting features and requirements into tests cases and automatable tests.
  • Demonstrated ability and track record of quality measurable test methodology and processes.
  • Experience in Firmware automation testing using Python and Behave.
  • Solid understanding of electronics and physical product test and the ability to setup equipment for test.
  • Knowledge of Bluetooth and Serial communications methods
  • Knowledge of Microcontroller, Raspberry Pi and related tools for automation testing
  • Experience working with Agile development methods and tools like XRAY, JIRA and Confluence
  • Knowledge of Mobile application testing would be advantageous.
  • Strong team player with leadership and mentoring ability to support the continued development of team members.
  • Ability to learn, grow and improve together, through new methods of thinking to thrive for results for our customers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out manual and automated test sequences of Wellington’s Refrigeration controllers and IoT products.
  • Ensure test equipment and associated test areas are accurate and well maintained.
  • Define product test plans, covering scope of test, coverage, risks, and methodology of testing.
  • Report test progress and test outcomes to project and product teams.
  • Maintain automation test systems and where applicable convert manual tests to automated processes.
  • Create test cases from requirement specifications and product features.
  • Apply best practice test and documentation methodologies.
  • Translate field bug and failure reports into test cases for future regression tests.
  • Track and resolve identified product failures.
  • Work closely within the  embedded software delivery team to ensure the successful delivery of new releases and products.
  • Contribute to project planning and support project plan deliverables.
